Joshua Loessberg-Zahl is a senior researcher at the University of Twente in the Netherlands where he helps lead a team of researchers working on the Translational Organ-on-Chip Platform (TOP). Joshua has 10 years of experience as an engineering scientist in the field of Organ-on-Chip. This includes a successful translation of microfluidic devices from the academic lab to cell-culture wet labs in industry. His work has a strong focus on the use of standards to accelerate the translation of MPS technology from academia to industry. Complementary to this, he fosters ongoing collaborations with TNO via the Bio-Microsystems Center and actively contributes to the ongoing ISO standardization efforts in the fields of Organ-on-Chip, MPS, and Microfluidics.
