Carla Annink

Research Technician

After her B.Sc. study Biology and Medical Laboratory Research, Carla assisted researchers at the Academical Medical Center Amsterdam in the departments Kidney Pathology, Genetic Metabolic Diseases and Experimental Cardiology.

As she has always been into exploring more of the world, she moved to Sweden and started working in the Molecular Tools group of Ulf Landegren on the protein detection assay PLA at the University of Uppsala for 4 years.

In 2013 she continued working on detection assays at the University of Twente in the Nanobiophysics group. Before joining the Applied Stem cell Technologies group in 2020, she worked in the Physics of Complex fluids group on surface interactions of rocks with seawater and oil.

The present research is focussed on the elucidation of protein clearance in neurodegenerative disorders on cell biological level.
