Dr. Iris Eva Allijn

Lecturer

Iris is a lecturer in the Biomedical Technology bachelor in the Bioengineering Technologies Track related modules 2, 5 and 11. Furthermore, she is the coordinator of module 5 ‘Creating Biological Tissues’.

Iris is a biomedical scientist by training from Utrecht University (2006-2011) where she graduated on natural occurring lipid nanoparticles for theranostic applications. After this she obtained her PhD in nanomedicine from the University of Twente (2012-2016) where she worked on the interface of pharmaceutical sciences and biomaterials. In her postdoctoral training at the same university (2017-2022) she gained experience in polymer networks, biomaterials and membranes for tissue engineering applications. In 2020 she started teaching and in 2023 she obtained her university teaching qualification and started as a lecturer. She specifically enjoys the discussions with the students (on biomedical related topics).
